My son experiences some serious bed head. It is beyond awesome and I thought you might enjoy his crazy blond locks as much as I do. Everyday is a surprise and I always have my camera ready :) Enjoy!!

Wordless Wednesday
My friend Rachel (you can see her adorable blog at http://www.babywebbsite.blogspot.com/) does a cute segment on her blog called "Wordless Wednesdays" and I thought she wouldn't mind if I borrowed her idea :) SO here is the first (semi)wordless Wednesday. Enjoy!

Bye Bye BaBa
Today we packed up Dr. Brown and said bye bye to the baba. I know this should have been done four months ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to take them away. This was all he had left of being a "baby". Harrison never took a paci and he only sucked his thumb for three months so I will be honest, I wanted him to have his baba. I started to worry that if I didn't do this soon, I would have myself in a real mess once Harper arrived. The real test will be bedtime tonight. I am hoping the transition is smooth and the little man doesn't even notice they are gone.....I'll keep you posted :)

Prayers Needed
This is a request to all my praying blog readers, please keep my Harrison in your prayers. Next week we go to meet with a hand surgeon (Drs. Kleinert & Kutz performed the first double hand transplant here in Louisville last year). Harrison has been unable to straighten his thumb for several weeks. After having his thumb xrayed, the Drs. have determined it is not broken, but may be an issue with the tendons in his thumb. I know there are many mommas out there dealing with issues far worse than a bent thumb, but I believe that my God hears our prayers and understands our worries. He loves my baby (maybe almost as much as I do :) and I am praying that his thumb will be healed and we will give Him all the glory!!

Warning! Content of this post is EXTREMELY SAPPY!!!
I'm not sure if it is the pregnancy hormones but I have suddenly been consumed with how Harrison will be affected by the arrival of Harper. I cry anytime I think about how this will rock his little world. There is nothing in me that thinks I can not love two babies, I know I can...I was MADE to be a mom! But how can I bring this precious baby girl into our home and make sure that Harrison feels all the love his little heart needs. I am just scared that I will be so consumed with the routine of a newborn (let's face it, nursing is the most consuming job you can have) that I put Harrison on hold and I refuse to let that happen. I know that we will make our own routines, and we will figure out what works for our family, but right now the uncertainty of what that looks like has me blinking back tears on a daily basis.
One day last week I was listening to the new Taylor Swift cd. I was washing dishes as the playlist reached a song called "Never Grow Up" With everything weighing so heavy on my mind I lost it. I sat at my kitchen table and had myself a good ole sob session. Yes, you read that correctly, I bawled my eyes out to Taylor Swift. Call me whatever you want, just don't say it to my face....I will cry :) I thought I would share with you the words that I found so touching. (To all my prego/postpartum friends out there, you may want to stop reading here.)
Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
So I tuck you in and turn on your favorite nightlight
To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have honey
If you could stay like that
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Wont let no one break your heart
No one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up

The Name Game
Why is there so much pressure when it comes to naming your child? To think that you are choosing a name that will stay with this person their entire life is a bit overwhelming to think about. For Matt and I, we want to give our children strong unique names, yet not so unique that people say their names with question marks at the end. The pressure really builds when you read that the name you give your child can set them up for either success or failure. Needless to say the stress to pick the perfect name had me going back and forth with a few names for several months. Finally, I believe that we have found a name we both love and can picture as our little girl. Harper Lovejoy Wade. Lovejoy obviously is very, very special to me. It was my name growing up, and a name that I loved. I loved it so much I decided to keep it as my middle name, and I hoped to have a daughter to someday share my family name.
Now that my sweet baby has a name, the quest for the perfect room has begun. Here are some ideas that I have. Enjoy!!

16 Super Sweet Somethings About 16 months
1. Every day you seem to get smarter. You understand exactly what people are saying to you, and your little wheels are constantly turning.
2. I love watching you as you discover how to do something for the first time. Whether it is stacking blocks, opening a new drawer, or flushing the toilet.
3. You LOVE Sesame Street. When Murray comes on with The Word of The Day, you run to the TV and clap with excitement.4. You are a dancing machine! You dance when ever you hear a beat. Your feet start tapping, your arms start moving, you raise the roof, spin in circles, and you have your own signature side bending bounce. You even know where the iPod is and point to it and sign "more" when you want to hear music.
5. I have been teaching you some signs and you have caught on so quickly. In just two weeks you have learned: please, thanks you, more, all done, milk, help, bath, and water.
6. You are a lover. You love to give kisses and you let people know when you are ready by puckering up with a big ole fish face.
7. Your vocabulary is getting bigger. You are learning new words all the time Right now your vocabulary consists of: doggies, kitty, cheese (for both cheese and cameras), please, momma, dadda, milk, juice, Chelsea (yes, Auntie Cheech LOVES this!!), momo (more), hi, byebye, nini (night night), and breakfast (I KNOW! I was shocked too, but you say it every morning as you walk to your highchair).
8. You are a total poser. When a camera comes out you start working your magic. It is sometimes frustrating for mommy who was trying to get an action shot and you stop what you are doing to squat down, close your eyes and say "CHEEEEEEESE".
9. You love Tuesday mornings at 9 because it is.....time for the trash man!!! You watch at the window with both hands on the window and your face smashed against the window. You watch the trash man stop at every house on our street. It is a wonderful 15 minute break for mommy :)
10. You still twirl mommies hair. You never took to a stuffed animal, but you love my hair so much I am not sure I can ever cut it!!
11. You have seven teeth and counting and love to use them to bite mommy and daddy's toes. I can't get mad at you because I do it to you all the time. You are so precious when you do this, even though I know I should stop you.
12. Your favorite foods are blueberries, cheese, yogurt, and any kind of soup. You are a good eater and try just about anything I give you. You sit at the table with us and eat everything that daddy and I eat.
13. You love to talk on the phone. You walk around our house with mommy's cell phone and blabber away. You have managed to text daddy and call a few people all on your own!!
14. When mommy gets out the laptop, you run to it and say "HI!!!" to the screen. It is so precious and you do this because we skype so much with our family. With Auntie Coco in Alaska and Lovie, Pop, and Nonni just wanting to check in, you talk on skype on almost a daily basis.
15. My favorite. You run to the window every morning to wave bye bye to daddy as he leaves for work. You blow him kisses and wait till his car leaves our street. At 6:00 every night I tell you "Daddy's home!" and you run to the same window and wave hi as you bang on the glass to make sure you have his attention. It absolutely melts my heart!
16. You are just so much fun that mommy has a hard time getting things done during the day. We play hide and seek, horsey, trains, chase, puppets, and whatever else sounds good to you at the time! I am finding myself letting the housework take a back seat so that we can play together and even nap together :) I love your cuddles, hugs, and precious little kisses.

It's a GIRL!!!
Best. Birthday. Ever. Yesterday I turned 27 (I have the gray hairs to prove it) and was hands down the best birthday ever! Matt and I watched our precious baby move on the screen as the ultrasound technician said the magic words "It's a girl!". With that, tears of joy began to run down my cheeks. I turned to look at Matt to make sure he was still conscious :) He was beaming. The rest of my day was consumed with thoughts of what my days would be like having a little girl. Braiding hair, dress up, tea parties, and cooking with mommy. I am not sure I ever stopped smiling yesterday.
I told you we were beaming :)
I could not wait to go home and tell Harrison he was going to have a little sister. We have already started working on saying "sissy" and he continues to give my belly sweet kisses. For the rest of his life he is going to be the big brother and I can not wait to see their love for each other. For now, we are practicing with a baby doll. You can judge for yourself, but I think he is going to be an amazing big brother!!

Tomorrow, tomorrow...You're only a day away!!!
Tomorrow is the big day! Baby Wade will go from an it to a he or she!!!! I will be posting tomorrow the big news with some precious photos of our newest bundle of joy.
I am leaning towards a girl only because this pregnancy has been so different from my experience with Harrison (although I did have a dream a month ago that it was a little boy with brown hair:). I honestly do not care what this sweet baby is, I just want to know!! What do you think?

You can call me Master D
On December 15th I graduated from Bellarmine University with my Masters in elementary education. This has been a work in progress for two and a half years. Since I was a little girl I dreamed about teaching and having students of my own, but it wasn't until 2008 that I decided to make that dream a reality. Because Matt was in law school at the time, I continued to work full time and pursued my degree with classes on nights and the weekends. I was exhausted to say the least (and I was prego for more than half of my time as a student), but I never once regretted my decision to go back to school. Now that it is finished, I am enjoying my time as a mommy. My day as a teacher will come, but I have decided to teach some at home :) Here are some pictures from my big night.
*If I look exhausted in these pictures it is because I was. Graduation was the same day we left the Children's Hospital after Harrison decided to eat metal....more to come on this story!! Needless to say sleep at a hospital with nurses waking up your one year old every hour is, um...nonexistent!
We were soooo ready for our comfy beds, but my boys were there to cheer me on!
My wonderful support system minus two beautiful sisters :)
Blowing kisses to my sweet boys.

Harrison's First Haircut
Harrison went to visit Auntie Lolo and Auntie Chelsea at Gentlemen's Cut for his FIRST HAIRCUT. He sat in daddy's lap for his haircut.
Because Auntie Lolo was the one cutting his hair, he was an angel!
How many people does it take to cut a one year old's hair? In our case 4.....hair stylist, personal assistant, photographer, and human high chair. Not to mention the many onlookers because, well let's face it, my son is adorable :)
The two most beautiful employees of Gentlemen's Cut!!
Thanks Auntie Lolo. He looks like a little boy now!!!

We're Baaaaack!!!!!
I apologize that I have been MIA for the last 6 months. I would like to say I had a wonderful excuse, but in all honesty I got lost in the busyness of life. As many of you know I spent August through November student teaching to finish up my masters degree in elementary education. It was the most stressful and tiresome four months of my life.
Student teaching was a wonderful experience. It solidified my excitement to be a teacher....someday. It also solidified my calling to stay home and raise my baby while he is still a baby. Don't worry, Harrison was not neglected during this time. In fact he spent four months being spoiled by my mother and playing with his friends Will and Anna. Even though I knew Harrison was in wonderful hands, it was heart wrenching to get updates on his day via text pictures. Having spent four months as a working mom, I realize just how incredibly hard the balance of daily life can be. For now, I am content staying in my little home and living on a budget (and playing The Grocery Game) so that I can stay home and not miss the precious little moments of my little ones.
Yes, I said little oneS! Matt and I found out in September that we will be adding another precious baby Wade in May. This will require a whole new blog post, and I promise it is coming VERY SOON!
Here are some other blog posts that are also on their way:
