Why I love being a mommy....

This right here makes all the late nights, early mornings, and loss of 10 hour nights of sleep worth it.  I love my cuddle bug and try to soak in every minute since one day he will be too cool to hug his mom :(  I knew that I would love my baby, but I honestly had no idea how much love I could really have for this little man.  I was absolutely meant to be a mom and have been looking forward to this since I was 2 years old and nursing my Cabbage Patch dolls (yes, it's true. There are even pictures to prove it).
I told you I would post pictures of Harrison enjoying his yummy rice cereal....so here you go.

Inspiration

On September 17th I have the honor of standing beside my best friend of 18 years as she becomes Mrs. Michael Bramlage.  Along with the many responsibilities that come with the important title of Matron of Honor, I have vowed to look my best in the dress pictured to the left.  The wedding marks one year of being a mommy (Harrison turns a year old on September 15th) so I have no excuse for carrying any extra pounds at that time.  I figured I would share my goal with you so that I can keep you posted on my progress.  I had a wonderful day with Taylor, her sisters (Marty and Andi), her mother LeeAnn, and Erica.  We spent the morning and early part of the afternoon searching for the perfect bridesmaid dress and wrapped up our successful journey in Covington with a wonderful lunch.   A little girl time is always refreshing!

Sunshine!

Harrison and I went to Florida last week for a much needed break from the cold.  We spent the week at Nonni's condo (my wonderful mother-in-law) along with my mom and Mimi (my grandmother).  What a special time to have with some of the most important women in my life.  Harrison was such a trooper and a perfect traveler!  I flew with Harrison all by myself and managed to still have made friends on the plane.  Harrison is such a cuddler that he slept in my arms on all of the flights.  I was so thankful I was not the poor mommy in the back of the plane with the screaming baby.  I can only imagine the feeling of helplessness because you are stuck 32,000 feet in the air.

Florida was sunny but unfortunately it was not was as toasty as I was hoping.  We did manage to walk the beach everyday and I am just starting to get back feeling in my toes from the icy water.  One afternoon as I walked the beach, I stumbled upon a man in a wetsuit who worked for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.  There was a manatee about 20 feet from the shore who was in shock from the frigid gulf waters.  He was waiting in the water with gentle giant until the rest of the rescue crew arrived to help move her to warmer water in an effort to save her life.  He told me that Florida has lost over 200 manatees this winter because of the cooler than normal water temperature.

On a happier note, Harrison has found something other than is thumb to suck....his big toe!  Yes, that is right.  My son sucks his big toe.  He absolutely LOVES his feet.  Another first this week is rice cereal.  He loves rice cereal.  I can't believe my baby is now big enough for a high chair and rice cereal.  He gets it twice a day (breakfast and dinner) and enjoys every bite. I know this because each spoonful is coincided with the delightful sounds of "Mmmmm mmmm mmmmm".

I have much more to share with you but I will save some for tomorrow!

Snow Puppy

For the first time in my life, I am starting to understand Cabin Fever.  Earlier this week we got six inches of snow.  It has been beautiful to look at, but I have caught myself wishing I was one of my dogs.  They have spent every minute of available daylight pouncing and rolling in the snow.  Snow has a magical way of making everything more beautiful and I was itching to get out and take some pictures.  After bundling up my little bundle of joy we were ready for a much needed break from the toasty confines of my house.  I hope you enjoy these pictures of Harrison's first adventure in the snow.

Remembering The Little Treasures

In an effort to document all of the little treasures as a mommy, I have decided to take up blogging.  Not that my life is really that interesting, I just wanted a way to capture memories that might otherwise fade away over time.  I wish I would have started this five months ago, but better late than never.  Harrison blesses me with so many wonderful moments through out each day and I hope to pass some of those moments on to you.  They say it takes 21 days to form a habbit...so here it goes!
