Night Out

So tonight was the concert and it was everything I had hoped it would be. I enjoyed a night out without cutting anyones food but my own, I sat at the table and enjoyed my dinner without chasing or threatening anyone.  I didn't change a diaper for 7 hours.  Instead, I enjoyed some Havana Rumba and rocked out to middle aged boy bands.  It.  Was.  Wonderful.

I keep reminding myself.....

There are some exciting changes happening in the Wade household.  God is working in some amazing ways and I can not wait to look back at this moment in 6 months and smile.  God has a plan for our little family, and we are in the middle of figuring out that plan.  I found this little picture and thought it was so perfect, I am framing it and putting it in my house where I can see it everyday!

NKOTBSB

For those of you not hip enough to know what that means.....New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys!  Yes, the concert is tomorrow and I am letting my inner tween back out for the night.  I have been brushing up on my NKOTBSB tunes and thanks to Pandora and Harrison has been able to experience his mom's mad dance skills.  Oh yeah, I remember some of the moves :)  I promise not to break out any of these moves when he is a teenager!!

It is going to be one fun girls night....check out the picture our friend made to commemorate the evening :)

Isn't She Lovely.....

Stevie Wonder said it best:

Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
Through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love

My sweet beautiful baby girl is 8 weeks already.  She is perfect.  Everyday my heart grows more and more with love for this little girl.  She is becoming more of a little person with an adorable personality to match her outward perfection.  She loves to snuggle right under my chin, and like her brother she loves her momma's hair.  She talks to me, she smiles at me, she turns to look at me when I speak, she can be summed up in one word....precious.

Beginning of the end....

It is officially the beginning of the end of the stage of Harrison's life where he sleeps in a crib.  Much to the sadness of this momma, he is starting to show signs of being a little too agile and I worry he may soon figure out how to escape the confines of his comfy bed.  I knew this day would come, but I was naively hoping it was another year away.  Aside from the sentimental reasons for keeping him in his crib, there were practical reasons as well....like the fact that he could not escape!!!  Oh well, I think he may have a few more weeks, but it looks like we will soon be facing a major milestone!

We love Auntie Cheech!!

Here is a sweet moment I caught of Harrison and Harper with their Aunt Chelsea.  And just a side note "Chelsea" was one of Harrison's first words :)  Boy are my kids lucky....lots of wonderful love to be shared from lots of aunties!!!

Fun with old friends

Last week was a fabulous week full of visits from old friends.  First, we had a visit from my old college roommate Taylor and her six month old cutie Jonah.  Taylor and her husband live in South Carolina and we do not get to visit very often.  It was so wonderful to have our children meet for the first time and like true friends, we were able to pick up right where we left off.  Here are a couple pictures from our time together....

And then Thursday we got to spend the morning with a childhood friend of mine.  Vivian and I went to elementary, middle, and high school together (she was two years older than me, but we played volleyball together or years).  Viv and her sweet family live in Philadelphia and were in time visiting family and they too made some time for Harrison, Harper and me.  We packed a picnic lunch and headed over to the Fish and Wildlife center in Frankfort.  Our boys had a blast meeting each other and checking out all of the cool Kentucky animals!

Thank you to Taylor and Vivian for making time in your crazy busy schedules to visit with us.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visits!!!  We can not wait until next time!

I think my kid is adorable....

My son is obsessed with the children's show Yo Gabba Gabba.  If you have had the pleasure of seeing this show, you know it is a bit odd, but something about it puts Harrison in a trance.  The child literally leaps for joy when it comes on, and I take advantage of the time he spends watching it to feed Harper, cook, or even just shower (yes, somehow I find time to do that :).  Here is a video Auntie Chelsea took while he danced watching Yo Gabba Gabba.  It was too cute not to share!

Summertime in Kentucky

It would not be summertime in Kentucky with out sweet tea, lightning bugs, fresh cut grass, cookouts and naked heines running around the back yard :)

Friday, Rachel, Walker and Warren came over to play.  It wasn't long before our boys were outside and stripping down.  They enjoyed a morning filled with bubbles, a sprinkler, baby pool, swings and a wagon.  Walker even dominated our slide....(Note to Self:  Do not put water on slide, it immediately becomes a turbo slip n slide.  Poor Walker never saw it coming.  That poor boy caught some major air!)

While our boys were busy being boys, our girls were being precious little girls.

(Disclaimer:  Somehow I missed a photo opp of our sweet girls together. so this is a picture from our last playdate)

I am so lucky to have a wonderful friend in Rachel.  I have found it so important to have fellow mommies to share joys, frustrations, questions, and accomplishments with.  Don't tell Harrison, but these playdates are  really more for me than him....but I don't think he'd complain too much :)
