First of many....hopefully

Today I was in Harrison's bedroom putting away his laundry.  As I sorted his jammies from his shirts and shorts I looked over and watched him play with his "dutch" (trucks).  He lined up each dutch and one by one he made them all crash off of his train table.  He was concentrating so hard, and I was smiling as I listened to the sound effects of the crash and fall of each "dutch".  In the middle of tending to his 8 car pile up, he looked up at me and said "Wuv you momma".  My eyes stung immediately.  Did my little boy really just tell me he loved me?  He had never done this before, not without me saying it first.  That was a precious few seconds that I will cherish the rest of my life.  My son, my baby boy, telling me he loved me for the very first time.  I wonder if my heart will swell this much every time he tells me he loves me.

My Heart Just Melted

Yes, I really did just catch Harrison trying to twirl Harper's hair.  Love. It.

2 Month Comparison

What do you think?!?

2 Month Check Up

Harper official hit the two month mark on July 23rd, but because we were out of town she had her two month check up on Monday.  I knew this girl was getting big, but I have to be honest in saying I was speechless when the doctor gave me her stats.  Ladies and Gentlemen, we officially have a little porker :)  My sweet girl weighs in at 13 pounds 6 ounces (3 ounces more than her brother at that age)...this puts her in the 97th percentile for weight.  She is 23 and 1/4th inches long landing her in the 80th percentile.  The doctor was pleased with her progress and reassured me I was not feeding her too much.  I was concerned since I basically feed her on demand, but even though I let her call the shots she only eats every three to four hours.  She is sleeping beautifully, our only issue is that she is a bit of a night owl and would like to stay up late and sleep in late.  I can not say that I mind since Harrison usually sleeps until 9:30 so I enjoy some nice quiet time in the mornings!

Harper's personality is certainly developing as quickly as her rolls :)  This girl has the most contagious, gummy, drooly smile.  She also has the loudest, most piercing cry you have ever heard.  She is a happy camper as long as things are going her way.  She coos, squeaks and grunts and most definitely loves to vocalize her feelings....I'm just chalking that up to the estrogen in her.

Auntie Coco

Harper FINALLY got to meet her Auntie Coco.  Courtney flew all the way from Alaska to join us on our family vacation to New Hampshire.  What a precious moment is was when we got off the plane and Courtney met her niece for the very first time.  Courtney. Was. In. Love.  Don't worry, she by no means ignored Harrison....let me reassure you.  My children are so spoiled when it comes to their aunties!!!

Courtney even took the time to show Harrison some of her stellar yoga moves.  Yeah, that is right.  Courtney can do a hand stand.  I didn't catch the final pose with my camera because a certain 2 year old was trying to copy her every move!!!

Did I mention she tried to offer me money for my baby girl?!?  I love you Court,  but not that much ;)

Harper Meets the Lovejoys.... Part 1

I have the most fabulous extended family.  Even though we live a thousand miles away from each other we keep in contact and look forward to our summer visits each year.  I was born in New Hampshire (which is where my Dad is from) and moved to Kentucky (which is where my Mom is from) when I was nine years old.  My Dad's entire family remains scattered throughout New England.  My parents, sisters and I (and now my own family) make it a point to visit every year in the summer.  Our visits are always too short but our great memories of shared days at the ocean, lakes, parks, and families homes cherished forever.

Last year, Harrison met his great grandparents for the first time and enjoyed a wonderful time at the ocean with Pop and Lovie (my mom and dad).

Hasn't my little boy done some growing in the last year?!?

This year Harper was able to meet her great grandparents too!  It was such a special time for me to be able to visit with my grandparents and watch their faces as the loved on my babies!
